Is it Safe for Cats to Eat Peanuts?

Peanuts

Peanuts aren’t considered toxic for cats but you should limit the amount that’s given to them. If you want to treat your cat with peanuts, you should only give them the plain ones that don’t contain any additives like salt. You should also only give a small amount as an occasional treat.

The husks should also be removed and discarded before the actual peanuts are given to your pets. Peanut husks or peanut shells can be dangerous to a cat’s digestive tract given their tough texture. One last thing to note about peanuts is the relatively high fat content. It’s mostly healthy fat but a cat’s digestive system isn’t designed to handle a large amount of fat so that’s why you should only give them a few peanuts in one sitting.
