Must-Read Tips on Drying a Siberian Husky Quickly
It might seem like an impossible task given the amount of hair a Siberian Husky typically has but we are here to tell you that it’s possible to dry a husky relatively quickly if you follow these tips.
Use a High-Velocity Dryer
The first step is to dry as much of the Siberian Husky’s coat as possible by using a high-velocity dryer. Recommended products include the K-9 III Dog Grooming Dryer. These devices will be able to generate the air needed to blow off all the bath water that starts to hold up in the dog’s coat.
Some Siberian Huskies, however, may not be able to handle the sound that comes from these high-velocity dryers. The sound may get them stressed and restless, which makes it even more difficult for you to dry the dog’s coat properly. In this kind of situation, a Happy Hoodie can come to the rescue by muffling the sound from the dryer and keeping the husky calm.
Use an Absorbent Towel
Once you have given the husky a good drying session with the high-velocity dryer, you should use a microfiber towel to dry off any remaining water that’s still lingering in the dog’s coat. We recommend a towel such as the Wooflinen Microfiber Pet Bath Towel. They may seem thinner than regular towels but they actually do a much better job of absorbing the water that comes out from your dog’s coat.
Ideally, look for a microfiber pet towel that’s machine washable so that it is much easier for you to maintain. You will also be surprised by how much your dog loves the feeling of the towel. If your husky’s coat is still wet at this point then it may good to leave him in a secure and comfortable space where the hair can be air-dried.
Managing the Husky’s Shedding Coat
Huskies are one of several dog breeds that shed quite a bit. You may come across a situation where a lot of their hair starts to shed as you give their coat a blow-dry. Once the husky’s coat seem relatively dry, it may help to use a rake brush or a pet brush vacuum to capture and discard as much of their hair as possible.
