Coconut water should be okay for dogs to have as long as it’s given in small, infrequent amounts. It could make a nice occasional treat for dogs. Just don’t consider it a full replacement for regular drinking water. Coconut waters may offer a number of health benefits due to being full of electrolytes and various nutrients like vitamin C and magnesium.

It’s important, however, to limit the amount of coconut water you allow your dog to drink. One reason for this is due to the fact that coconut water does contain some carbs. A dog that drinks too much coconut water may end up with a temporary digestive upset.

Coconut water also contains a decent amount of potassium and too much of this mineral can lead to conditions like hyperkalemia. We want to also stress that you should only be giving your dog natural coconut water. Don’t give them store-bought coconut water that contains additives like added sugar.
