Can Dogs Eat Arborio Rice? When it is or isn’t an Emergency

Arborio is a short-grain rice that’s best-known for being used in dishes like risottos. Despite it not being considered toxic to dogs, you should only allow your pooch to eat a small amount because of the relatively high starch content. The Arborio rice should not be the main or regular source of a dog’s diet.

Just because arborio rice isn’t considered toxic to dogs doesn’t mean you can let the pooch have a taste of the risotto. You need to keep in mind that risottos are most likely going to contain ingredients that can easily upset a dog’s stomach. They may also contain ingredients that are considered to dogs, including garlic and onions.
