Don’t Let Your Dogs Eat Banana Peels

Banana Peel

The skin or peels of the banana isn’t considered toxic to dogs but you should still make sure that your dogs aren’t getting a bite of it. Banana peels can be problematic for a dog’s stomach because they aren’t easy to digest.

Dogs that accidentally eat banana peels will be at risk of suffering from stomach upsets. The problems will be even worse if the dog barely chewed the banana peels before swallowing them. In such cases, the dog would also be at risk of suffering from blockage in the stomach or other parts of the digestive tract.

If your dog ate some banana peels then keep a close eye on him for the next several hours. If your dog starts to show some concerning symptoms then a trip to the vet may be necessary. Otherwise, just give it some time for the banana peel to go through the dog’s digestive system. It should eventually come out in his poo.
