Avoid Letting Your Dog Eat Bread Crust

Assuming we are talking about plain bread, a small amount of bread crust is unlikely to make your dog sick but that doesn’t mean it’s fine for dogs to eat. Bread crusts are ’empty’ calories. They can account for a large percentage of a dog’s daily calorie intake without contributing any meaningful nutrients.

This would increase the risk of dogs gaining unnecessary weight, especially if they are allowed to eat bread crust leftovers on a regular basis. Some dogs may also have allergies or sensitivities to wheat, meaning they should not be eating bread or bread-based products. Otherwise, they are likely to suffer from digestive problems like diarrhea.
