Avoid letting your dog eat ice cream, specifically coffee-flavored ones. In general, coffee ice cream isn’t a healthy frozen treat for dogs. It may also be dangerous to a dog’s health although this depends on the ingredients the ice cream contains.

Dog owners need to first understand that coffee ice cream is likely to contain a relatively large amount of sugar. This isn’t good for a dog’s stomach. Nor is the lactose content that dairy products like ice cream contains. A dog that eats coffee ice cream may end up with symptoms like diarrhea, stomach upsets, and vomiting.

Coffee ice cream will also contain a small amount of caffeine, which aren’t good for dogs. They can suffer from caffeine toxicity, which could result in symptoms like hyperactivity and restlessness. A dog that licks a small amount of coffee ice cream may end up okay but we would always check with a vet just to be sure.
