Dogs Can Eat Plainly-Cooked Salmon in Moderation

Salmon

It’s safe for dogs to eat salmon in moderation as long as they are plainly-cooked. Salmon is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which offers a plethora of health benefits to dogs (and humans)! There are a few safety precautions when you prepare the salmon for dogs.

First, don’t add any additives or seasoning to the salmon. We would also recommend not cooking it with oil. Instead, it would be better for dogs if you cook the salmon via steaming, roasting, or baking.

Second, make sure you extract all the bones before you feed your dog some cooked salmon. The fish bones could potentially cause internal damage when getting lodged in the stomach or other parts of the digestive tract.
