Can Dogs Eat Corned Beef? When it is or isn’t an Emergency
You are asking for a lot of trouble if you let your dog eat corned beef. Most corned beef products don’t contain ingredients that are toxic to dogs but they do have an excessive amount of salt and fat. You could say corned beef is even worse for dogs than bacon.
The high sodium and fat content will create havoc in the dog’s stomach. The dog’s digestive tract simply isn’t used to handling a large amount of salt and fat. Your dog might temporarily suffer from digestive problems like diarrhea and vomiting if they eat a decent amount of corned beef. A tiny amount is unlikely to cause harm but it won’t do any good either.
