Can Dogs Eat Courgettes? When it is or isn’t an Emergency
Yes, it’s safe for dogs to eat a bit of courgette as long as it’s served in small amounts. It’s important that courgettes are served plain. They should not be mixed with ingredients (e.g. garlic and onions) or additives that are actually harmful to pets.
Despite not being considered toxic to dogs, it’s important that they aren’t fed too much. For example, some dogs may experience health issues like bloating if they are given too many courgette pieces in one meal. Courgette can be served both raw and cooked. When cooking courgette for dogs, we suggest using methods like baking or steaming. Don’t fry the courgette slices in oil. That’s unhealthy for dogs.
