Can Dogs Eat Imitation Crab Sticks? When it is or isn’t an Emergency

Imitation crab sticks aren’t considered toxic to dogs and a small amount as a treat is unlikely to make them sick. That said, we wouldn’t recommend feeding your dog crab sticks.

The typical imitation crab stick will use ingredients like starch and pulverized white fish. It’s highly-processed convenience food that is also likely to contain unhealthy additives.

Imitation crab sticks also lack a nutritional profile so there is nothing much for the dog to gain nutrient-wise when eating crab sticks. It’s important to stick to a dog’s daily calorie intake requirement to keep your pooch healthy. Your dog would be better off being given treats that are much healthier than fake crab meat.
