Halloumi cheese is the worst kind of cheese for dogs. They usually have a high fat content and may also be quite salty since they are stored in brine. Dogs that are allowed to eat halloumi cheese regularly may end up suffering from digestive issues. Longer-term, their risk of getting serious health conditions like pancreatitis also increases.

In addition to the above, halloumi cheese also contains lactose (although lactose-free halloumi is also available). Many dogs have lactose intolerance so this will most likely cause further stress to the dog’s digestive tract. As you can see, there is very little benefit for a dog to gain from eating halloumi cheese, even as an occasional treat.
