It’s safe for most dogs to enjoy an ice lolly during the hot sunny weather. It can’t be any ice lolly though. Dog owners need to make sure the ice lolly doesn’t contain any ingredients that are harmful to dogs. The best way to do this is by making your own frozen treat for dogs!

Ice lollies are straightforward to make as long as you have a mould to shape the lolly. One recommendation for making a dog ice lolly is by mixing a blend of carrot, apple (without seed and core), and water. You could also use a meaty treat stick instead of the regular ice lolly stick so that your dog can enjoy everything from start to finish.

Although they are safe for most dogs, it’s important that ice lollies aren’t given to dogs too regularly. It will depend on the ingredients used but too many ice lollies could always trigger a temporary stomach upset in dogs. Some pet supply stores may offer ice lollies for dogs if you aren’t able to make them yourself.
