Puffed rice cakes are okay for dogs to eat in small, infrequent amounts. They aren’t toxic to dogs but they also aren’t beneficial either. Puffed rice cakes typically contain very few nutrients so it’s not something that should account for the majority of a dog’s daily calorie intake.

The above is only referring to plain puffed rice cakes. These days, puffed rice cakes are available in a variety of flavors and some of them are definitely off-limits to dogs. For example, you shouldn’t let your dog eat chocolate-flavored rice cakes or rice cakes that include a decent amount of added sugar.
