For most dogs, it’s safe to eat yellow bell peppers in moderation. Yellow peppers offer a number of health benefits including being an excellent source of vitamin C and vitamin B-6.

Dogs can eat yellow peppers both raw and cooked although some dogs might find it easier to have the cooked peppers. When raw, yellow peppers do offer a good crunch which some dogs will enjoy but some, including puppies, may also find it a little bit more difficult to digest. We suggest cutting the bell peppers into tiny pieces to prevent your dog from experiencing digestion issues.

When cooked, it’s important to serve the yellow bell peppers without any additional ingredients or seasonings. Make sure you also don’t let your dog eat fried peppers. The cooking oil may aggravate the dog’s gastrointestinal tract. Whether you give your dog cooked or raw yellow peppers, please make sure to discard the seeds and stem. Only feed your dog the flesh.

As dog owners, please keep in mind that dogs don’t necessarily require a lot of vegetable in their diet so vegetables like yellow peppers should only be viewed as a treat and not a replacement of the dog’s regular meal.
