Bananas could make a good natural treat for pugs as long as you don’t let the dog eat too much of it. Bananas are packed with nutrients like potassium which are important for bodily functions. Unfortunately, they also contain a decent amount of natural sugar and that can be problematic for a pug’s stomach if too much of the sugar is ingested at once.

If you plan on letting your pug eat bananas then do make sure to cut them up into smaller pieces before they are served. You should also avoid serving green and unripe bananas to pugs as this may increase the risk of gastrointestinal problems like bloating and diarrhea.

The banana skin is not considered toxic to pugs but please make sure they are safely discarded. Pugs that accidentally eat banana skin may suffer from issues like gastrointestinal blockage.
